Buses with illegal aliens rerouted amid protest

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Homeland Security buses carrying migrant children and families were rerouted Tuesday to a facility in San Diego after American flag-waving protesters blocked the group from reaching a suburban processing center.

The standoff in Murrieta came after Mayor Alan Long urged residents to complain to elected officials about the plan to transfer the Central American migrants to California to ease overcrowding of facilities along the Texas-Mexico border.

Many protesters held U.S. flags, while others held signs reading "stop illegal immigration," and "illegals out!"

"We can't start taking care of others if we can't take care of our own," protester Nancy Greyson, 60, of Murrieta, told the Desert Sun newspaper.

Many of the immigrants were detained while fleeing violence and extortion from gangs in Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.

After the buses were blocked, federal authorities rerouted the vehicles to a freeway and then to a customs and border facility in San Diego within view of the Mexico border.

The three buses were trailed by a half-dozen news crews during the two-hour trip. People near the San Diego facility were surprised by the caravan.

Juan Silva, 27, a welder in Chula Vista, said he thought officials were transporting drug traffickers. Then he heard the buses were carrying migrant families.

"I don't think people in that town should be against little kids," he said about the protesters in Murrieta. "We're not talking about rapists. We're talking about human beings. How would they feel if it was their kids?"

After the migrants are processed, Immigration and Customs Enforcement will decide who can be released while awaiting deportation proceedings.

Earlier in the day, a chartered plane landed in San Diego with 136 migrants on board, according to a federal Department of Homeland Security official who was not authorized to be named when speaking on the issue.

It was the first flight planned for California under the federal government's effort to ease the crunch in the Rio Grande Valley and deal with the flood of Central American children and families fleeing to the United States.

The government is also planning to fly migrants to Texas cities and another site in California, and it has already taken some migrants to Arizona.

More than 52,000 unaccompanied children have been detained after crossing the Texas-Mexico border since October in what President Barack Obama has called a humanitarian crisis. Many of the migrants are under the impression that they will receive leniency from U.S. authorities.

Another flight was expected to take 140 migrants to a facility in El Centro, California, on Wednesday, said Lombardo Amaya, president of the El Centro chapter of the Border Patrol union. The Border Patrol would not confirm that arrival date.

I live in Murrieta, CA. These illegal immigrants are released after being processed. Please refer to the City of Murrieta website where you can read in the Q&A that:

If we see immigrants wandering the streets is there someone we can call to pick them up?

Once Border Patrol has identified and processed the illegal immigrants, THEY ARE ALLOWED TO LEGALLY REMAIN IN THE UNITED STATES UNTIL THEIR APPOINTED HEARING DATE. LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT HAS NO LEGAL REASON TO DETAIN THEM, Unless they have committed a separate violation of state law or local ordinance. Local law enforcement officers are precluded from enforcing immigration law by department policy. Law enforcement agencies and their officers will always respond to calls for service to intervene and assist as needed in humanitarian efforts.

Do you hear that people of America. Your local, elected officials and law enforcement officers cannot enforce immigration law.

Town Hall Meeting tonight at 6:30.

This piece is propaganda, not news. It calls illegal aliens migrants, and plays to the readers' emotions with words like family and children. Illegal immigration is a huge problem - maybe the biggest one our nation faces - and this kind of yellow journalism makes resolving it much more difficult. These were people here illegally. Period. They need to go home. While they're here, the children should be treated exactly as we would want our own children treated in a foreign country. But the end result should be moving all of these people back where they came from. If they want to come here, they can follow the process. It's a difficult one, but millions of immigrants have come to America and started a new life legally, so it can be done.

These numbers are for my state of North Carolina last year:

$2.06 billion a year spent on illegal immigration
$1.24 billion a year to educate the children of illegal aliens
$250 million a year on unreimbursed health care for illegal aliens
$155 million a year on criminal justice activities for illegal aliens
$150 million a year on welfare for illegal aliens
$268 million a year for additional state/local operating costs

$621 annual cost to each of North Carolina’s native-born headed households

Immigrants come to the front door, know and wait to be invited in. Illegals sneak around back, break in through a window and expect to be allowed to to stay. These are NOT immigrants but illegals. They were transported using buses and planes from Texas to California. In the old days, illegals were put on a plane and delivered to their country of origin. It seems to me that Pan America is just about as close to Texas as El Salvador is....about 1,500 miles.

This is a travesty of justice. More illegal aliens coming here? Please, no more. If they can't control their population problem in South America, give them condoms and birth control. Then, take all of the unemployed people in America, give them a gun, and have them stand at our border protecting it. Shoot as needed. Have Congress enact legislation that will make it a capital offense for coming into our country illegally. Set up crematories along the border so these illegals can be cremated after they are killed for illegally coming into our country. Then throw their ashes back on Mexican dirt. This ought to stop this migration of illegal aliens once and for all.

Why arent these buses going directly to the docks or the border to send them back???

The following information is compiled from Federal Bureau of Investigation and Department of Homeland Security reports:
* 83 percent of warrants for murder in Phoenix are for illegal aliens
* 86 percent of warrants for murder in Albuquerque are for illegal aliens.
* 75 percent of those on the most wanted list in Los Angeles, Phoenix and Albuquerque are illegal aliens.
* 24.9 percent of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals
* 40.1 percent of all inmates in Arizona detention centers are Mexican nationals
* 48.2 percent of all inmates in New Mexico detention centers are Mexican nationals
* 29 percent (630,000) of convicted illegal alien felons fill Arizona and federal prisons at a cost of $1.6 billion annually
* 53 percent plus of all investigated burglaries reported in California, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona and Texas are perpetrated by illegal aliens.
* 50 percent plus of all gang members in Los Angeles are illegal aliens
* 71 percent plus of all apprehended cars stolen in 2005 in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and California were stolen by Illegal aliens or "transport coyotes."
* 47 percent of cited/stopped drivers in California have no license, no insurance and no registration for the vehicle. Of that 47 percent, 92 percent are illegal aliens.
* 63 percent of cited/stopped drivers in Arizona have no license, no insurance and no registration for the vehicle. Of that 63 percent, 97 percent are illegal aliens
* 66 percent of cited/stopped drivers in New Mexico have no license, no insurance and no registration for the vehicle. Of that 66 percent, 98 percent are illegal aliens.
* 380,000 plus "anchor babies" were born in the United States to illegal alien parents in just one year, making 380,000 babies automatically US citizens.
* 97.2 percent of all costs incurred from those births were paid by the American taxpayers

"Many of the migrants are under the impression that they will receive leniency from U.S. authorities" Gee, I wonder where they got that idea from. As these illegals flood our borders our already strained economy will continue to struggle and perhaps fall. They take jobs from American citizens, which means food from our tables and our children's mouths, yet the government wants to let them stay! Put them back where they came from. If they want to come here, let them do it the right way. We need to stop this before it gets even more out of control.

I live in El Centro this is just WRONG!!! El Centro is in Imperial County which is buy public records the poorest county in Calif. We do not have the resources to provide for our seniors or the poor, how in the world is the county going to provide food, housing, schooling and medical services to the illegals. The poor and seniors will suffer. We did not ask to be the host for the illegals. Our weather for 6-7 months out of the year is above 100 degree's do everybody a favor and sent them back where they came from.

America is being invaded and overrun without a shot being fired or any resistance from America. The MAJORITY of Americans do NOT want amnesty or these illegals to come here. The Obama administration and the media is LYING to us as MOST Americans do NOT want them here! And we sure as "hell" do NOT want our jobs and our services provided for free! You have people in America that need them. That is why it is so hard to take that the Liberals state we need them as they can provide America's needy, underprivileged and undereducated, with services and items for them to succeed.
So, why are the Democrats/Liberals giving away America's resources, jobs, housing and medical to other than America's legal citizens, families and children?

Why is it that we have money for illegals but not our own elderly and veterans?

I live near a military base where they are keeping all the greasebacks all day everyday the buses come in full of greasebacks and leave empty. There are thousands of greasebacks running around here like never before. Here where I live outside of every grocery store there is a political stand where the greaseback can register to vote Demm.

Great move on the part of the Murrietta citizens. It’s about time someone made it clear that Americans are not going to take this invasion anymore

this whole thing has turned into a total joke....the american people do not want illegal criminals in our country...

$2.5 Billion dollars a year is spent on Medicaid for illegal aliens.
$12 Billion dollars a year is spent on primary and secondary school education for children here illegally and they cannot speak a word of English
$17 Billion dollars a year is spent for education for the American-born children of illegal aliens, known as anchor babies
$11 Billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year
$2.2 Billion dollars a year is spent on food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches for illegal aliens
$90 Billion Dollars a year is spent on illegal aliens for Welfare & social services by the American taxpayers
$200 Billion Dollars a year in suppressed American wages are
caused by the illegal aliens.
$3 Million Dollars a DAY is spent to incarcerate illegal aliens.
30% percent of all Federal Prison inmates are illegal aliens
The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that's two and a half times that of white non-illegal aliens. In particular, their children, are going to make a huge additional crime problem in the US
The Dark Side of Illegal Immigration: Nearly One Million Sex Crimes Committed by Illegal Immigrants In The United States.

Housing replacing our farm lands schools over crowded streets not safe at night descent paying jobs being replace with multiple minimum wage jobs traffic in areas that didn't used to have it all this is causing minimum wage to increase which makes everything else cost more. I'm a Vietnam vet who has worked my tail off for the past 43 years. I bought a home, Wife and I have raised two beautiful girls here for 20 yrs. I broke my neck in 2 places and was forced to take off work for ten months on disability. Now I'm in jeopardy of loosing my home. I can't find work that will pay the bills. I'm receiving unemployment. Food is rally expensive, gas is expensive, food stamps or any other help has papers a mile high the lines at these State offices take hrs and hrs to get through. If you make the max on unemployment you don't qualify to receive food stamps. It's not fair!! I see people in these government office that can't speak English talking on their $1000 phones and driving cars I wish I had. My cars just barely run, I can't afford a cell phone, And I see people who have not really done anything but break the law, get all the needed services handed to them. I don't get it. I want to work. I used to have a six digit income and now I'm expected to work for 9 dollars an hr. and loose a house that I pay less than a two bedroom APT. in the bad side of town Something is wrong here and a don't think this is how we should treat hard working AMERICANS

Someone in their countries is telling them they can stay in the US once they get across the border. They pay smugglers to get them to the US border, then seek out border agents rather than avoiding them. I watched a discussion between the head of Homeland Security and Congress on CSPAN last week and no one knew who in South America is creating the rumor. My guess is the smugglers, they profit from this. Apparently, Congress was warned in January that 65k children were expected to come. Congress didn't know who generated the 65k estimate and the border patrol wasn't informed.

As long as this president chooses which laws he will obey and enforce and neglect the rest you will continue to see the same thing happening. California has already had to close 5 hospitals in southern California because of all the illegals coming to the emergency room for treatment about colds, hay fever and other allergies, and the list continues. The hospital administrators warned the people and the government ignored them. They can't afford to pay for doctors with patients who have no plan to pay and yet continually show up for treatment. Obama care is just going to be more of the same with the middle class paying for all the illegals and those who choose not to work . Over 90 million unemployed and over 52 million on welfare. So much for job growth and the stimulus.

My parents came to America from North Africa in 1969. They went to the American embassy in the capitol and sighed up for visas. When they arrived in New York they both found jobs within two weeks. After two years of holding down full time jobs they applied for citizenship. Two years later they were sworn in as citizens of the United States of America. One year later I became the first natural born American in my family. I grew up hearing the stories of what my parents endured to come here and become citizens. I am disgusted by people who try to force themselves into our society without contributing one day of work! No illegal alien caught sneaking into this country should be offered work, health care or citizenship! Because of my parents hard work and sacrifice I became the first to graduate from college. I now work for the OCFD as a paramedic. I wanted to serve the country that gave my family so much. How can we let anyone walk into our home and take what we work so hard to achieve?

Every other industrialized or "first world" country in the world has a strict immigration system, and punishes illegal entry swiftly, and you never hear them being berated for it. The US has a lax system, an undefended border, and we're horrible, murderous, animals if we deport someone that came here illegally. Somehow, everybody in the world all of a sudden has a "right" to come here and live off of our system. Even Canada makes you prove you can contribute to society before you're allowed to even get so much as a work visa. Why can't we do that also?
We cannot afford to take care of millions of unskilled, poor workers from other countries. When you import millions of people from corrupt nations, all you do is bring the corruption here.

Does anyone remember the Mariel boat people from Cuba? The Carter Administration let in a whole bunch of boat people, on humanitarian grounds, that were supposed to be escaping from Cuba. Turned out Castro was just cleaning out his prisons and mental institutions. The Commies love to make a sucker of Uncle Sam every chance they get; and some people in the U.S. government are too stupid to realize that they are being had. Too bad we got people in high places who can't tell the difference between peanut and manure.

The illegals have more rights and can get away with breaking the law, than a American citizen. My friend is a Stockton police officer and he told me that he arrested an illegal for DUI, which was his 5th offense. He processed him and the man was released after an hour. He said there isn't enough room in the jails and the Fed's refuse to deport these kinds of people. The only time they will look at deporting him is when he kills someone. Obama released 30,000 illegal felons last year, who were in process to be deported. I'm not against immigration, but I am against our government allowing these illegal immigrants to drain our system and get away with breaking our laws. This needs to stop!!

I was born in Cuba and waited 19 years to come to the US legally. I came at the age of 33 with wife and children and no one of us took Food Stamps or any handout.

What is happening is simple... they have no jobs because they do not want to work and nobody will invest in a place where people do not want to work. They prefer the "easy" life of stealing someone else's property complaining they are exploited by the "capitalists".
If you invest in these countries sooner or later you will be "nationalized" like in Cuba, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, etc.in the name of Socialism. These countries then will not pay their debts and you will need to go to a court to recover the investments like in Argentina and Venezuela.

And when they have too many people... they send it to the US like the Mariel boatlifting in 1980 or the rafters in the 90 or the present migration from Guatemala.

There is a very simple way for these countries to make money. Send their people to the US and then they will send money back home for supporting their families. In Guatemala this is the 3rd. source of income for the government.

I do not care if they are hungry or jobless because they have never liked us at all,. They only try to use us knowing we are nice people.

If they want to really solve their problems, they have to change their countries mentalities and their politicians who are the real gangsters.

If there is a mad cow the government will find it in a few days, will also find where it came from, what was eating and so forth.

There are more than 13 millions of illegal immigrants in the US with a heavy accent (if they speak English), living in specific areas, etc... and the government can not find them. Why?

These people work in factories and plantations faking a Social Security number and the managers of the factories or plantations do not ask them for a verifiable S.S. either for they pay low wages to these illegals.

Ask the government to request the verification of the S.S. and they will not do it because the rich people who own the factories and plantations will be affected.

If you enforce the S.S. verification and make a crime to hire the illegals, there will be no illegals working in the US.

Don't know why Yahoo keeps taking this down?

Understanding that Members of Congress ultimately would not ignore the unequivocal objections of their constituents to amnesty, the Obama Administration opted to adopt a strategy of dismantling immigration enforcement in order to achieve the same ends. The Administration hoped that while the American people were focused on unemployment, crashing real estate values, banking scandals, health care reform, foreign policy crises, and countless other issues, they would not notice just what was actually taking place.

This report details how the Obama Administration has carried out a policy of de facto amnesty for millions of illegal aliens through executive policy decisions. Since taking office in 2009, the Obama Administration has systematically gutted effective immigration enforcement policies, moved aggressively against state and local governments that attempt to enforce immigration laws, and stretched the concept of "prosecutorial discretion" to a point where it has rendered many immigration laws meaningless. Remarkably, the Administration has succeeded in doing all this with barely a peep of protest from Congress.

Thus, despite the fact that the U.S. Constitution grants Congress plenary authority over immigration policy, the Executive Branch is now making immigration policy unconstrained by constitutional checks and balances. This report chronologically highlights the process that has unfolded over the past four years. A review of the Obama Administration's record shows:

The Administration's conscious effort to end policies that effectively enforce and deter illegal immigration. This includes the cessation of meaningful worksite enforcement against employers who hire illegal aliens and the removal of the illegal workers. It also includes ending effective partnership programs with state and local governments, such as the 287(g) program, that provide a structure through which state and local agencies may enforce immigration laws.
The Administration's intimidation of state and local governments determined to enforce federal immigration laws. President Obama has turned the Department of Justice into the Administration's attack dog, filing lawsuits against states that pass their own immigration enforcement laws. When lawsuits fail, the Department's Civil Rights division launches meritless investigations designed to harass local governments and officials who attempt to enforce the law.
The Administration's dependence on illegal alien advocates to make U.S. immigration policy for the Executive Branch. President Obama has placed strident amnesty advocates in key positions throughout his Administration. These appointees have worked openly with advocacy groups to shape a series of policies that amount to backdoor amnesty.
Outright deception on the part of the Administration designed to convince the American public that immigration laws are being vigorously enforced. The Obama Administration repeatedly engages in efforts to inflate its record of deporting illegal aliens. These deceptive practices include the release of data that is later exposed to be inaccurate. The Departments of Justice and Homeland Security carefully select data to claim that our "borders are more secure than ever," even as violence along the southern border escalates to alarming proportions.

The Obama Administration's strategy is to count on the fact that the public and the media will not take notice of each individual and incremental step they are taking to undermine immigration enforcement and grant de facto amnesty to as many illegal aliens as possible. This report exposes the strategy and the policy objectives behind it.

Feds to Bring in Riot Squad Against Illegal Immigration Protesters

by Kristin Tate 6 Jul 2014, 8:55 AM PDT

HOUSTON, Texas--As illegal immigrants continue to spill across the U.S.-Mexico border, federal authorities are attempting to relocate the migrants from South Texas to housing facilities in states across the nation. One such facility is located in Murrieta, California, where a large group of protesters recently blocked a bus full of migrants from arriving. The protesters remain there, adamant that illegal immigrants don't get dumped in their town. But soon the concerned citizens may be forced to step down--Breitbart Texas has learned that federal agents plan to arrive in Murrieta on Monday with riot gear to ensure that another busload makes it to the housing facility.

Jeremy Oliver, a resident of Temecula, California--a town that neighbors Murrieta--told Breitbart Texas that local police officers warned the protesters that "it's going to get ugly."

Oliver said, "The feds are pissed that they haven't been able to use this facility. Officers out there warned people that federal agents will be in Murrieta on Monday--they are going to get the next bus through no matter what. Riot gear and shields will be used to push the crowd back."

John Henry, a Murrieta resident since 1991, was told the same thing by local officers.

"We're being told that federal Marshals or ICE will be here in the next few days and that they are bringing riot gear," Henry said. "They're apparently going to be blocking off the street with concrete blockades so that no vehicles can get through. The River County Sheriff's Department showed up last night and brought a huge watch tower that shoots up into the air 35 feet."

On Friday, six protesters were arrested in Murrieta. One was apprehended for crossing "the yellow tape that blocked protesters from the Border Patrol station entrance," according to USA Today.

Henry expressed frustration at the fact that the illegal immigrants are being "rewarded" for breaking the law--after illegally crossing the border, they receive a slew of taxpayer subsidized benefits like housing, food, education, vocational training, and legal counsel. Most are then released onto U.S. soil.

When U.S. citizens break the law, on the other hand, they pay the price. "If any one of us were to roll through a stop sign, we'd be pulled over and ticketed," Henry noted.

On June 4th Breitbart Texas' Managing Director Brandon Darby broke the news that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) would be relocating illegal immigrants from Texas to California. Within moments of that story being published, the official Twitter account of the San Diego CBP tweeted at Darby, insisting the report was “erroneous” and asking for it to be removed from the internet.

Days later the San Diego CBP deleted the tweet from their official account. Subsequent reports, outlining plans to fly immigrants to Southern California, proved CBP had indeed planned the relocation all along.

It is unclear how the border crisis will be handled moving forward, especially given that many U.S. citizens oppose the migrants being shipped by the hundreds to their communities.

Busload of Illegal Aliens a No-Show in Murrieta: Skeptical Protesters Stand Ground

by Kristin Tate 10 Jul 2014

HOUSTON, Texas--Resistant residents in Murrieta, California were bracing themselves for several busloads of illegal immigrants to arrive in their town on Thursday morning. It now appears, however, that no migrants will be sent to Murrieta--not this week, at least.

A press release from the National Border Patrol Council, obtained by Breitbart Texas, said, "It has been confirmed that there will not be a flight from Texas to San Diego on July 10, 2014, carrying illegal immigrants from Central America. We do not know when they will resume; subject to change."

Regardless, concerned citizens remain at the protest grounds, where two busloads of illegal immigrants were turned away last week. Many furious townspeople assert Murrieta should not have to accommodate the never-ending flow of illegal immigrants.

Jeremy Oliver, a resident of Temecula, California--a town that neighbors Murrieta--told Breitbart Texas on Thursday morning, "There are about 400 people here total right now. Word is the buses aren't coming--but of course there are rumors flying around that they actually are coming."

Protesters on the ground fear that if they leave their posts, the federal government will send buses.

The Murrieta Police Department told Breitbart Texas that several officers remain on the scene "just to keep peace."

Many residents and city officials remain disturbed by the lack of transparency; Assemblywoman Melissa A. Melendez, who represents Murrieta, recently penned a letter to Governor Mike Brown asking that he help with the immigration crisis being forced on her area. Melendez demanded a more transparent system, in which Murrieta would be "given a time in which the federal relocation efforts in [the town] will cease. To date and to my knowledge those requests have been ignored."

The Assemblywoman went on to write, "It is my understanding that [DHS] will continue to transport 140 undocumented Central American immigrants to Murrieta every seventy-two hours for the foreseeable future."

Alex Avetoom, a spokesman for Melendez, told Breitbart Texas, "We're not being told what the stop date is. You cant solve the problem until you figure out how long you have to deal with the problem. They remain very tight-lipped about when buses are coming, probably because they know they'll be met with protesters."
